UUC Aluminum Pedals

Abstract - I've actually never cared for pedals. It would seem like they would get dirty pretty quickly. The only other benefit besides aesthetics I can think of is better grip..

Purchase - Clearance from UUC Motorwerks store for $40.

Parts - Aluminum Brake Pedal, Aluminum Gas Pedal, machine screws, nuts, electric drill, drill bit.

Installation - I followed the DIY instructions on E46Fanatics. Place aluminum parts over OEM, mark holes to be drilled. Drill holes completely through OEM pedals. Screw them in tightly. I had originally thought they there were installed some other way. At first drilling seemed like a bad install method, but it makes sense because you don't want them falling off in the middle of driving.

Impressions - Well, I must admit that they don't look so shabby. They look even better when they are only $40. I drive barefoot about 50% of the time and the one thing I did notice was that the metal edges were sharper. Since the pedals are metal as opposed to rubber and plastic, it gets colder and hotter more easily. Again, most people probably don't drive barefoot so that is not really a concern. The pedals have rubber backs and rubber slits in the front. The grips seems the same as the original.

Conclusions - I think pedals are purely for cosmetic purposes, if you got extra cash lying around or find a great deal spring for it.
