Rieger Rear Bumper

I have always thought the stock rear bumper was too high compared to the rest of the car. It's one of those things where no body else would notice, but it bugs the hell out of people who do notice it. Anyway, I also thought the stock bumper was too "busy" and wanted to replace it with a lower and cleaner looking Rieger Rear Bumper.

I forgot to take pictures when I was installing the bumper so I only have before and after pictures. The Rieger Rear Bumper is made of ABS plastic and comes with side brackets that slide into the stock clips behind the rear wheels. You must remove the metal portion of the actual bumper and reuse it on the new bumper. There are a bunch of rivets that need to be removed and reinstalled. Also, drilling is necessary on the new bumper, so some clever aligning needs to be done. The mesh portion of the bumper also needs to be cut and glued with their supplied materials. The glue gets very messy if spilled, I have warned you. =)

The install was easier than expected and took about 3-4 hours. The most difficult part of the install was gluing the metal part of the stock bumper to the Rieger Rear Bumper. Other than that everything else is pretty easy.

Here is my stock rear bumper with the black moldings painted titanium silver. It looked much worse when I first bought the car.

Here is another shot of the stock rear bumper after I put on the UUC Twin Silencer Exhaust.

Here is my car after I installed the Rieger Rear Bumper.

The Rieger Rear Bumper extends well below the exhaust and is much cleaner looking.

The quality and fitment of the Rieger Rear Bumper is very good, it matches perfectly with the wheel well.

Here is another picture of the rear. At about 90% of the highest setting of KW Variant 2 Coilovers, the Rieger Rear Bumper is still only 4 inches off the ground at the lowest point.

After a long day, I finally finished everything.
