BMW M3 Mirror Glass

Abstract - The mirror glass that came with my replica M3 mirrors simply didn't cut it. The image was distorted and there was no glare resistancee.

Purchase - Bought from Circle BMW .

Parts - P/Ns

Installation - Installing the mirror glass was a snap. On the back of the mirrors there is a rotating clamp and double sided foam tape. These fit perfectly on the stock motors. Place the glass into the mirror housing. With a small paper clip find the notch at the bottom and rotate. It will lock the glass onto the motor.

Impressions - The image now looks much cleaner, I can actually see things clearly. These mirror glasses were pretty expensive and now I know why. The construction and materials are far superior than any replica by a factor of 100. I also found out that there is a concavity on the mirrors; perhaps that is one reason why it costs more to produce. For full install details please visit the BMW Replica M3 Mirrors page.

Conclusions - Replica mirror housing is fine, since it seems outrageous to pay $400 for a OEM set. However, getting the OEM mirror glass is a must. I consider it a safety modification.
