BMW OEM M5 SMGIII Steering Wheel

 

So what's the big deal with M steering wheels? Two things: thicker and SMG levers. Previously, I had the E46 M3 steering wheel which was great. Then I sat in a brand new E60 M5 and realized the M5 steering wheel felt that much better. The M5 steering wheel isn't a direct swap like the E46 M3 steering wheel. There are clearance issues as well as wiring issues that need to be sorted out. The problems and how they were addressed are in the discussion below:
