AC Schnitzer Wheel Locks

Abstract - Every once in a while I read about someone's wheels getting stolen and the car being left on cinder blocks. Wheel locks are very inexpensive compared to the cost of a new wheel. Wheel locks are like one time insurance items.

Purchase - Clearance from E46Fanatic.com store for $20.

Parts - A set of 5 wheel locks and a key.

Installation -  These wheel bolts are like any other ordinary bolts with the exception of the different pattern on top. You insert the key that connects the bolt to a standard hex nut.

Impressions - Wheel locks prevent theives from easily stealing your wheels. Cleavar theives will bring all the popular wheel lock keys incase you have them on your car. Wheel locks are not fool proof and are really only meant to delay and discourage the thieves. Some people get multiple different types of wheel locks to further protect their wheels.

In a few cases, wheel locks have actually caused more harm than good. If you loose your key or don't have it on you when you get a flat, you can not change your tire etc. Sometimes they get stuck and have to be drilled out. This process might damage your wheels and wheel assembly.

Conclusions - Cheap insurance item. Get wheel locks if you can be responsible enough to not loose the key.
