After testing out the Xenarc SC8 with a power hungry 3.0 P4 processor sucking 100W...I concluded that it sucks too much power even though its a nice unit...I went back to Xenarc and picked up the latest and greatest completely fanless FL9...

FL9 is based on the 855GME intel chipset...basically their low power celeron/pentium M line...w/ integrated graphics with DVI!...I decided that im so close to the end of this project...why not go all out? how can you say no to that! 30W power draw...

Celeron M 1.5ghz + 0.8inch low profile 2x512MB DDR333...

Sorry if this is all redundant...this thread isn't about the end product...its about the process...=)

Similar layout as the SC8...few more compact adjustments...

mPGA 479...

The drive cables are gone...there's a board in its place...much cleaner in design...

4GB flash...

But it's going to be too tall...9.5mm is max height..so I'll have to step down to the 2GB if i'll be going flash...It hits the DVI connector which is very poorly designed...only real flaw in the FL9...

DVDrom fits...

Interesting heatsink...I guess the idea is to transfer as much heat to the case...

The other great thing about the FL9 is that it has a built in voltage regulator and shutdown controller...via ignition wire...thus we can test it with a car battery...

This thing is completely silent and shock proof...

Everything checks...

Bios includes the shutdown controller options...

So I also post my mistakes...here's a 14.1 inch tablet pc LCD that I had high hopes for...

LVDs, builtin rotation, bright, good response time, built in tablet...

Then I realized it had a WACOM rear mounted tablet...which it'll only recognize special pens...and not fingers etc...idiot!

More updates this weekend...
